This is a place of legends, stories and memories. This is The Grill at The Dorchester, located in the elegant borough of Mayfair in the heart of London. It was founded in 1931, renovated in 2006 and recently updated. The Grill has kept many of its original elements, but at the same time it has been given a timeless décor. Led by chef Guillaume Katola since 2017, The Grill at The Dorchester is known as the home of great names in the cooking world and a hangout for celebrities, world leaders and royalty.
The Grill at The Dorchester is located within the historic and glamorous The Dorchester hotel and part of The Dorchester Collection group. A symbol of high hospitality, British elegance and the famous British hospitality, the iconic hotel is recognised worldwide for its beyond 5-star treatment. Like the hotel, The Grill was founded in 1931 and the initial project was done by Oliver Ford, who enriched its Hispanic decoration in red and gold with beautiful Flemish tapestries. It underwent a refurbishment in 2006 and, in 2014, Bruno Moinard had the difficult task of updating a space full of history, without ignoring its heritage, thus maintaining many original elements, preserving this fantastic meeting place for the rich and famous since the 1930s. The original ceiling and ornamented doors remain part of the current design, but there are notable additions, such as the large Murano glass chandelier and the rotating ‘magic’ wall panels, which automatically rotate as the day turns into night, thus obtaining two completely different environments at lunch and dinner. The new décor also includes contrasting natural materials, including zinc, copper and marble, combined with caramel-coloured leather and oak parquet flooring.

Guillaume Katola offers diners the classics that have become favourites over time, but also new and delicious flavours.

Ever since its foundation, The Grill at The Dorchester quickly earned a reputation for being the ideal place for the best grilled food in London. In accordance with this original concept, Alain Ducasse’s protégé Christophe Marleix created seasonal menus. Today Guillaume Katola is in charge of the flavours and, like his predecessor, favours local ingredients and respects their seasonality. Guillaume Katola offers diners the classics that have become favourites over time, such as the Blue Lobster Soup and the extensive menu of sweet soufflés, but also new and delicious flavours. Celebrating the most important meal of the day in style, The Grill at The Dorchester offers everything from a light menu to the classic full English breakfast, which, among many other delicacies, includes fluffy pancakes and a basket of golden pastries. Among the many choices for main meals are, for example, the famous Sunday roasts, or fish and chips with peas and tartare sauce, or hamburger with smoked bacon and cured cheddar cheese, with chips or a mixed salad. Above all else you can choose the best of both worlds: to be in a beautiful, magical place with an opulent history and at the same time to experience the best flavours of the English capital.
