The promise is enticing. At The Vine every experience is prepared to arouse the senses. «The sixth way of feeling», advises the hotel. And everything leads us to believe that this is the case. The blend of mastery and local knowledge are well expressed in the building’s architecture, which bears the signature of Ricardo Bofill and João Francisco Caires, creatively ‘bottled’ by the interior designer, who needs no introduction, Nini Andrade Silva. Inside, like a bottle of wine, you can appreciate the richness of a velvety crimson wine, full of body, strong in character, where subtle flavours and notes will be discovered by you, slowly, as if you were actually tasting a fine wine.
Designed to relax, the environments evoke the secrecy and mystery of wineries. They invite introspection. Each floor is inspired by the seasons represented by different stages of the grapes’ growth, from the fresh greens of spring, the exuberance of summer and autumn and the stillness of winter. Can you feel it?
The rooftop terrace features a heated infinity pool, massage amenities, a 20-metre whirlpool and views of the São João Fort and the mountains. Beautiful scenery. And if you wish you can also enjoy a blend of French and Madeiran cuisine here, prepared with regional products. Cocktails and snacks are available at the 360° bar.
And if your body and mind need more, the spa offers vinotherapy, among other treatments worth trying. It’s no wonder that Funchal’s luxurious Vine Hotel was awarded Europe’s Leading Design Hotel award. And that the European Best Destinations website considers it to be «a hotel with soul, just like a fine wine». Enjoy your stay.
