The MS Collection hotel brand challenged contemporary artist Alexandre Farto aka Vhils, to interpret Eça de Queiroz through an installation that will be visible by the pool of its first five-star hotel, MS Collection Aveiro - Palacete de Valdemouro, once the residence of the Portuguese writer and diplomat’s father and family. «Scratching the Surface - Eça»is a 4.7 x 4 metre mural whose artistic concept explores the life, work and impact of Eça de Queiroz in the city of Aveiro. Through this installation, Vhils aims to unveil the hidden layers of history that lie beneath the surface, connecting past and present in a timeless piece.
