You can never speak too highly of the Maldives. A destination of heavenly beaches and lagoons. An enchanting landscape with a perfect tropical climate awaits you. This time, we've travelled to the Gili Lankanfushi, which lies on the waters of Soneva Gili, in the heart of the Indian Ocean, in the North Malé Atoll. This resort is a 20-minute boat trip from Malé International Airport. It offers sun and sea in luxury accommodation. Here you can make the very most of your time. Slow down, watch the turquoise sea and enjoy the warm sunshine. But this is only possible when you disconnect from the outside world so that you can rediscover yourself here.
The Gili Lankanfushi gives you the chance to plan dream getaways, immersed in quality moments, whether as a couple or as a family. Escaping reality in search of excitement and a host of aquatic adventures. You feel the warm ocean breeze and the fine sand between your toes. You look at the sky and wait anxiously for the sunset. And you fall asleep listening to the calm waters lapping. And while we're on the subject of relaxation, the 45 villas where you can stay have been built using local materials, such as teak, palm wood and leaves and bamboo. Inside, the toiletries are stored in reusable clay containers, a way of minimising plastic waste. Time seems to stand still, here above the ocean, under the stars. But if for some reason you wake up in the middle of the night, take a dip in the infinity pool and marvel at the scenery while you wait for the night to pass or the sun to rise.

The Gili Lankanfushi Private Reserve is the ultimate in privacy, refinement and isolation
Day after day, the shimmering turquoise blue is what catches your eye. The Gili Lankanfushi Private Reserve is the ultimate in privacy, refinement and isolation. When you enter the villa, it's the outdoor amenities such as the expansive terraces, the infinity pool, the spa with sauna and steam room, the cinema and the bar that awaken your senses. It will prove difficult to find an excuse to leave this comfort. The villas, with thatched roofs, are an open-air oasis with direct access to the sea.
They have one or two bedrooms. Then there are the residences at the end of the jetty. Among them are those with catamaran hammocks that hang over the sea. When it is time to eat, seafood and vegetables from the garden await you, a way of serving the freshest and most nutritious dishes (from rocket and lettuce to pepper, basil, fennel, pomegranate, bananas and much more). Between European, Maldivian and sushi dishes, the choice is endless and the variety of restaurants and bars is extensive. In the Kashiveli, with its feet in the sand, ingredients from the organic garden and local waters are served, the flavours of which transport us to cities such as Bangkok, Marrakech and New Delhi, among others. Right on the seafront, surrounded by a tropical jungle, the Japanese restaurant welcomes you. A Japanese fusion at the hands of a teppanyaki chef who turns dinner into a fun and unforgettable spectacle. The Fini Foni restaurant, next to the pool and very close to the tennis court, is a good place to enjoy an ice cream, a refreshing drink or a light snack. At sunset, you'll want to take a seat at the panoramic Overwater Bar, feeling the evening breeze and watching the sky glide over the horizon as it turns pink and purple. You also have the chance to experience a private dinner in different parts of the island, lit by lanterns and stars.

In 2019, it became one of the first resorts to commit to protecting its seagrass as part of the Protect Maldives Seagrass movement.
To complete your experience at the resort, what better than to have a relaxing time at the spa? Take care of your body and mind. Away from the distractions of the real world, rediscovering yourself in a balance of well-being with customised treatments is one of life's true pleasures. The Meera Spa, a holistic retreat located in the secluded bay, brings together therapists who use modern techniques and health science, blending plants and herbs from the garden to soothe and promote balance.  With Meera Ayurvedic therapy, which is a 5,000-year-old system of alternative medicine, the imbalance of mind and body is corrected as consciousness is awakened. But in addition to this treatment, there are many others. And while you're at it, you should know that the resort has partnered with EarthCheck, which is the main certification programme used by the tourism industry, making it possible for them to uphold the most up-to-date sustainability standards in order to reduce their impact on the environment. As a result, in 2019 it became one of the first resorts to commit to protecting its seagrass as part of the Protect Maldives Seagrass movement.
So, do some yoga, play some tennis, enjoy the gym, dream up exciting water adventures and so many other activities, and in the end, dive into the waters and let the sea wash away all those negative energies. Explore the coral reefs and marine life. And live this adventure to the full.
