Felipe Oliveira Baptista takes over Kenzo’s creative direction

Being ahead of the creative direction of Lacoste for many years, the Portuguese Felipe Oliveira Baptista taking charge of Kenzo, a French luxury brand from LVMH group. In a statement, the Portuguese said that «Kenzo is freedom and contagious movement» In a  reputable publication, he also stated that the «constant celebration of nature and cultural diversity has always been and remains at the heart of the brand». Felipe Oliveira Baptista will «immediately» assume the charge of Creative Director which had previously been held by the duo Carol Lim and Humberto Leon since 2011. The North Americans presented their last collection at Kenzo, for spring/summer 2020, in June, in Paris. The Portuguese Designer is now «writing a new page in the history of the House which was founded in 1970», ensures the group. Taking into consideration Felipe Oliveira Baptista’s work at Lacoste, Vogue believes the creator was the responsible for the evolution of the sneakers brand to a dignifying runway brand, «carrying a sporty and environmentalist look to his collections». The collaboration with Supreme was one of the last projects that the Portuguese followed on Lacoste.
