Dom Pedro Hotels&Golf Collection, the Algarve’s leading golfing brand, and its Dom Pedro Victoria Golf Course witnessed a historic moment during the 12th edition of the Portugal Masters. For the first time in the history of the competition (the European Tour was created in 1972), a golfer hit under-60 for a round on a course on the European circuit. The record now belongs to Englishman Oliver Fisher, who completed the second round of the Portugal Masters in 59 shots, on the course of Dom Pedro Victoria Golf Club, in Vilamoura, a layout designed by the iconic Arnold Palmer.

Although the winner of the Portugal Masters was his compatriot Tom Lewis, Oliver Fisher handed in a bogey-free card, with ten birdies (one below par) on the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 6th, 8th, 10th, 11th, 12th, 15th and 17th holes, in addition to an eagle (two below par) on the 5th hole, becoming an honorary member of the Victoria Golf Course in the process.

For Stefano Saviotti, President of Dom Pedro Hotels & Golf Collection, «It was great to see the professionals battle it out for the trophy. It was also a pleasure to have been part of a record-breaking moment on the European Tour».
