Schloss (Castel) Lüdersburg is located in the idyllic rural region between the River Elbe and Lüneburg Heath, not far from Hamburg, Germany. From the old castle, dating back to the 12th century, only the moats that protected it from ambushes remain. The manor house, the ‘White Castle’, was built in 1776 and today, after successive renovation works, is, together with the adjacent buildings, an elegant and modern hotel with a variety of accommodation options and a relaxing spa.
The history of golf at the Schloss Lüdersburg began in the late 1980s when the von Spoercken family built the first 6-hole course, which, over time, was expanded to 18 holes (Old Course). A second 18-hole course (Lakes Course) was then built, along with a short course of just four holes (next to the driving range). The building that houses the Clubhouse was formerly used for another purpose, but its transformation has endowed it with all the modern facilities needed to delight all golfing aficionados.
The Lakes Course develops over 6067 metres and was designed by renowned golf architect Jack Nicklaus.
With its wide fairways, the 4-hole short course, with holes ranging from 135 to 288 m, is an ideal place to practice. For its part, the Old Course boasts a 5912-metre layout, whose landscapes include fruit trees and other centuries-old trees, lakes and many natural obstacles and is considered one of the ten most beautiful courses in Germany. As for the Lakes Course, it develops over 6067 metres and was designed by renowned golf architect Jack Nicklaus. Its main feature is its succession of water obstacles (lakes). The Schloss Lüdersburg is also home to a golf school under the direction of accredited professionals. There are also three restaurants, including one in the Clubhouse, allowing golfers to recharge their batteries after exciting challenges.
