Since 2011, Pine Cliffs, holder of the Winners’ Cup event, has been hosting a golf tournament for members of its Vacation Club and Golf & Country Club. The competition was then extended to tennis and padel, two very fashionable sports. This year, the 2019 Winners’ Cup was held on February 16 and 17 and, once again, amateur players were able to enjoy two magnificent days of socialising, leisure and fun in the Algarve.
In addition to the golf events, two clinics were held, one for tennis and another for padel, with Frederico Gil and Diogo Schaefer. The Porto Pirata kids’ club also held a special programme dedicated to the event – a mini-golf tournament for children. In addition, the Pine Cliffs Goes Active gym provided free classes and the Serenity - The Art of Well Being spa offered discounts on all spa treatments. On Saturday night, Corda Café served dinner to participants, accompanied by live music. On Sunday, after the tournament had ended, a prize giving lunch took place.

This as a highly anticipated moment for the participants and, of course, for the winners: Daniela Larson won the Longest Drive Junior; Breda Hague the Longest Drive Ladies; Diogo Cassiano Neves the Longest Drive Men; Ulrich Hauer won the Nearest To The Pin; George Jenkins, with 28 points, took 3rd place Junior; Bradley Frankland, with 34 points, 2nd place Junior and Maisey Barnaby, with 35 points, 1st place Junior; James Slate, with 34 points, took 3rd place; Diogo Cassiano Neves, with 37 points, 2nd place and Job Van Woensel, with 39 points, 1st place. In the tennis, Theo Winfield took 2nd place Junior and Erik Larson triumphed with 1st place Junior; whereas in the adult event, Adrian Hoffstaedter came in 2nd and Alastair Wright took 1st place. In the padel event, Diogo/João were the winning team, which Amadis/Michel came second.
The ninth edition of Winners’ Cup proved a great success, with a total of 50 participants (38 golf tournament / 12 tennis tournament). Family friendly and suitable for people of all ages, this was also a charity event.
