Green Trekker, a company that’s dedicated to the organization of adventure and hiking trips in and out of the country, organised a challenging hiking through unknown trails and sights in Sintra, scheduled for Saturday, October 13th. The meeting point is in the Lagoa Azul’s car park at 10.00am. From there, the participants will follow a trail that will lead them to the Rio Mula Dam. The route follows to Pedra Amarela, from where you will have a privileged view not only over the Portuguese coast, but also over Lisbon. The group will go back to the forest to reach the third highest point of the mountain:  Tholos do Monge, a collective grave built during the chalcolithic age. On the way back, you will be able to visit convento dos capuchos, among other places of interest. Altogether it’s 17 km and about 5 hours and a half and, although unforgettable, it’s demanding, so the organization advises that you should only participate if you are used to this type of activity and if you’re in good physical condition. There is also a minimum age limit: 14 years old. Green Trekker also advises to wear comfortable clothing and footwear suited to the atmospheric conditions, and carry a backpack water (of at least two litters), as well as some food and a mug. Registration is open on the Green Trekker website.
