In a building made of modern lines, signed by the architect Carrilho da Graça, Chef Marlene Vieira’s new space, which in fact is an area of two distinct restaurants, will be conceived. One will be a gastrobar, a modern and trendy restaurant, where people will not only be able to find a shop that sells a wide range of Portuguese products, but also the country’s first Dessert Bar, given the fact that Marlene Vieira is an expert in sweets. The other restaurant will also have the chef’s signature. There she will reveal all her grit and passion for the national gastronomy. This is how Marlene Vieira decided to honour her country's cuisine in all its various features. Recognized as a woman of the new generation, who best represents the Portuguese cuisine, faithful to her roots and the origins of our national gastronomy, Marlene Vieira brings a new look to the Portuguese tradition of gathering people around the table. «This is an ambitious project, in which I intend to create a new Portuguese recipe book», says Marlene Vieira. «It's a new beginning for me, where my only anchor will be our native products». Carrilho da Graça’s building, by the Tagus River, in the Lisbon Cruise Terminal, is entirely new. It doesn’t possess the weight of history, which allows the chef to feel a certain freedom herself away from the strictness of recipes, in order to focus on the national flavours, which have always guided her identity in the kitchen.
