Located in Termas de Melgaço (Melgaço’s hot springs), the former Hotel do Peso, currently in ruins, will be rehabilitated in order to make way for a new four-star hotel complex. With French and Portuguese investments that can reach six million euros, this icon of Alto Minho's heritage will have 60 rooms and will respect the original features of the great Hotel do Peso. Its outdoor swimming pool will have a close connection to the hot springs to take advantage of the potential of the thermal spa resort. Its reconstruction is expected to begin in the first half of 2020.
