With the opening of the first phase planned for spring 2023, Ombria Resort is a new luxury development, covering a total area of 153 hectares, surrounded by a serene and natural landscape composed of green hills, streams and forests full of lush trees, located in the Algarve, 7 km north of Loulé and 20 km from the beaches and Faro Airport.
This development aims to pioneer a new generation of low density construction resorts in which sustainability, protection of the environment and support for local heritage are high on the list of priorities.
Ombria is being built to the highest international standards of design, service, quality and facilities available. An example of this is the investment in construction materials with unique characteristics, such as Portuguese cork and lime. This complex will include a 5-star hotel Viceroy at Ombria Resort and Viceroy Residences at Ombria Resort, with spa, health and fitness facilities, several restaurants and bars, conference centre and heated swimming pools; three different real estate phases with a total of around 380 properties, which include luxury villas, townhouses, townhouses and apartments, with prices starting at €600,000. An 18-hole golf course, designed by architect Jorge Santana da Silva, with a clubhouse; leisure and entertainment facilities; an organic farming area; beekeeping facilities; an astronomical observatory; a beach club on one of the nearby beaches; nature paths for walking and cycling and other sports facilities.

At the moment, the golf course is ready. Both the hotel and the Viceroy Residence, which are part of the first phase of this project, are at an advanced stage. Under construction since the end of 2019, both the Viceroy Residences and the hotel will open in spring next year. Due to growing demand and sales success, prices have already increased several times since selling began and a further price increase is expected this summer. Some apartments have private gardens and pools and all have large terraces and views of the Ombria Resort golf course, which is already built and will open to the public at the same time as the hotel in spring 2023.

This investment is expected to be around €300 million
So far, about 10% of clients are Portuguese, consequently, close to 90% are foreigners, of which about 40% are from Benelux, 20% British and the remaining 40% are made up of various nationalities including French, Germans, Swiss, Scandinavians, and also people from the Middle East, Africa and the Americas. Around 20% of the customers bought in order to obtain a Golden Visa. In total, this investment is expected to be around €300 million.
