Slamp is not only a manufacturer of luminaires, but it is also an Italian brand that creates art and theatrical magic in the form of light. Its creations and collections are the result of partnerships with prestigious artists, architects, designers who truly celebrate light. One of the coolaborations the brand established in 2019 was with the portuguese architect and sculptor Miguel Arruda. The numerous times award-winning architect, born in Lisbon in 1943, he created NUVEM, an opalflex led suspension lamp®. In fact, Miguel Arruda states «We didn't make a lamp, we made a ceiling», easy words to understand at the first glimpse of the sculptural piece. The inspiration of this modular luminaire came exactly from a sculpture that the architect and sculptor created in 1980. Slamp's team applied the idea, creating one meter hexagonal sections, folded and articulated to be infinitely combined, filling a space with floating landscapes. NUVEM is a 'ceiling' that’s illuminated by two-way spotlights. NUVEM comes with wires that reach six meters long, but once suspended, the installation appearance can be manipulated using the push and pull system, located below each decorative module. By pulling or releasing the wires, the luminaire stretches or dilates, gaining its own life, becoming a fluid and lightweight ceiling. CLOUD goes far beyond traditional lighting. Its agile anatomy allows the transformation of space architectural elements, crossing the ceiling and moving through the walls, creating an infinite sky.
