Furla and Mavive are two long established Italian family companies. Furla is based in Bologna while Mavive is located in Venice. With its ongoing strategy of repositioning the brand in the lifestyle segment, further diversifying the range and making a first foray in the beauty market, the Italian leather goods label Furla has announced the signing of a partnership deal with local manufacturer Mavive for the production and worldwide distribution of Furla’s first perfume without, however, pointing out a release date for the fragrance. «The creation of a perfume will bring the brand closer to consumers around the world, highlighting the elegance and positivism that characterize Furla and its collections», said Alberto Camerlengo, CEO of the Furla group. Massimo Vidal, CEO of Mavive, expressed «great satisfaction» for the signing «of the licence deal with Furla, which will enable him to create the first fragrance line for one of the most appreciated and prestigious Italian leather goods labels worldwide».
Furla was founded in 1927 by Aldo Fulanetto and currently international sales accounted for 85% of the brand's revenue, which is distributed through a network of 490 stores (including 285 managed directly) and a thousand multi-brand stores worldwide.
Mavive was created in 1986 by Massimo Vidal. His family is known in Italy for its line of personal care products and their business is currently run by the third and fourth generations. The perfumer Mavive, who also manages the license of brands such as Police and Replay, is present in more than 90 countries. In 2018, the company recorded a revenue of about 60 million euros, 62% in international markets.
