Continuing its tradition of creating watches that combine enhanced mechanics with extravagant ideas, Hermès launched one of its most spectacular watches ever. The Arceau l'Heure de la Lune Only Watch offers a unique vision of the Earth’s satellite, with a simultaneous display of the phases of the Moon in the northern and southern hemispheres. Two mobile counters gravitate in a meteorite display, revealing mother-of-Pearl moons, in tune with a unique module, together with a Manufacture Hermès movement. This series, which consists of two versions, limited to 100 units each, was presented at SIHH in Geneva, Switzerland. The two mother-of-Pearl discs – one displaying the hours and the minutes and the other one displaying the date – seem to float on the display, in a weightless atmosphere. Both discs revolve around the central axis once in 59 days, corresponding to two complete phases of the moon. The discs float above two representations of the Moon and show the phases of the satellite in real time. This whirling choreography is driven by an automatic movement. The calibre H1837 is kept in an ash gold 43 mm diameter box. From 25th September to 9th November, about 50 exclusive Arceau l'Heure de la Lune Only Watch watches will be exhibited in Monaco, Dubai, Paris, London, New York, Tokyo, Singapore, Hong Kong and Geneva.
On November 9th, there will be an auction in Geneva, at the Four Seasons Hôtel des Bergues. The collected funds will be entirely donated to scientific and medical research on neuromuscular diseases, in particular Duchenne muscular dystrophy.
