Six Senses Douro Valley

Home is a feeling that protects us and makes us feel cosy. A safe haven that filters the sorrows and worries of everyday life. Inspired by this feeling, Six Senses Douro Valley challenged itself to create the concept of home around its rooms, suites and villas, keeping all and any amenities and services of a hotel, but adapting to the dimension that the word «home» entails.

The plan is to provide harmonious moments for family and friends, committing to standout villas, with communicating rooms, generous outdoor spaces and, well, everything that meets the requirements of a house.
There are nine rooms and suites, incorporated in an extensive area. As soon as you enter the building, you are welcomed by a spacious area, which greets you with the warm glow of the fireplace. The atmosphere is hospitable, created for morning conviviality at breakfast. For the early risers, who enjoy a run in the fresh morning air, a continental breakfast is served. But the Open Kitchen also opens its doors to others, to taste the delicious and typical estate breakfast. During the day, the space takes on a new concept, reconfiguring itself for leisurely reading while enjoying a fine reserve wine and, as the sun sets, transforming into an area that emanates festive vibes, with colourful cocktails and drinks to enjoy.

Outside, the shared gardens and the swimming pool provide convivial quality time, adding to the enjoyment of the stunning landscape of terraced vineyards. Six Senses Douro Valley also surprises you with a hydro massage pool, the Pool Garden Bar and an aromatic herb garden. Now let’s discover a little more about what the interior has in store for us. The two Pool Villas were inspired by Portuguese decorative and architectural elements, providing a high level of comfort and convenience in a contemporary style. The villas have one or two bedrooms, with a kitchen equipped with everything you could ever need, living and dining areas, a wine fridge and, of course, a fireplace. They have independent entrances from the outside and include a heated pool, with a counter current swimming machine, and a deck for sunbathing, accompanied by sun loungers facing the inspiring
views.
