This very request has been made by some golf courses in the Algarve, connections to use water from Wastewater Treatment Plants that is being wasted. In order to reduce consumption from the public network, using only waste water is the goal of those responsible for the sector. Under the motto «greater rationality and less quantity», many courses are striving to manage water in order to change traditional standards. Studies show that, for the grassed areas of golf courses, water consumption is between 5 and 6%.
