The dread of mosquitoes can be put to an end with a recent innovation of a former student of the University of Minho. Already being produced, the scented bracelet fools mosquitoes, leading them to see humans as plants, and thus preventing bites associated with diseases, such as dengue, malaria or zika. The technology in question, X-OCR, has been tested with 98% effectiveness on 300 people in Brazil, and incorporated into a bracelet format with an action radius of 60 centimetres and a duration of 30 days. Available in six colours, it is already on sale online.
