Back in 1997, architect João de Sousa Rodolfo decided to undertake a project that remains on the path of innovation to this day – the Traçado Regulador firm. Following more than 20 years since its creation, it is the stories, the difficulties overcome, the experiences and, mainly, the clients’ voices that resonate the loudest, placing this company on a level of success, which can easily be seen in the huge variety of projects that have come into being.
Peopled by a vast team, this architecture practice, based in Paço de Arcos, Oeiras, Portugal, develops the most varied projects, although over the last 10 years it has been investing mainly in the residential area, with a particular focus on luxury residential. Something that seems to have been unaffected by the recent pandemic context, since, contrary to what one might expect, the firm has experienced an increase in demand, and currently has more than 70 projects on its books. An unquestionable reflection of what the focus of Traçado Regulador is: «The quality of the designed space and the quality of construction are closely related to the quality of the project.

The emphasis is placed on the quantity and quality of the information produced for the work and the coordination between the various projects», explains architect João de Sousa Rodolfo. For this very reason, the company currently adds a range of complementary services to architecture, and has engineers on the team, who carry out most of the engineering projects necessary for construction, so that each project has this custom and comprehensive nature. The practice strives to combine aesthetics with technical quality, without forgetting the quality of construction and the associated costs. On the other hand, the company’s chief concern lies in energy efficiency, which is why there is special attention to optimising the thermal insulation of houses, as well as the use of integrated management and energy optimisation systems that enhance the characteristics of the house.
Paraphrasing what a wise man once said: «The only place where success comes before work is in the dictionary», and Traçado Regulador, on this path trodden by architect João de Sousa Rodolfo, together with his team, has been demonstrating this, working hard so that projects become dream spaces.
